This Week's Pod Cast

Hello and Welcome back to the African Roots Podcast! You can always reach me at @gmail.

Greetings to everyone from the state of Georgia! I am attending the FamilyHistoryExpo, and am excited to be coming to you from the conference site in Gwinett County Georgia, in Duluth Georgia.

(Please check last week’s podcast for a list of some of the speakers who will be of interest to African ancestored genealogists.)

Today, I have a special treat—with me, is Drusilla Pair, of Newport News Virginia. She is one of the conference speakers and one of the Bloggers of Honor! Follow her blog this weekend at FindYourFolks. By the way, many of you know Ms. Pair online, as ProfessorDru. She also is a regular in the online chats on AfriGeneas.

Welcome Professor Dru!!!!

Listen to her, share a bit about her background, her focus in today’s presentation and her expectations for this weekend’s event. Her blog is entitled, Find Your Folks and you can locate it here.

For those of your who will want to follow some of the events at the Family History Expo, you can follow the group on TWITTER, Facebook and by following the blogs.

I recommend that if you are on Twitter, that you also find the Tweets that will be coming from those who will be live blogging, and also follow the posts on Facebook, as well.

This will be the last of the major genealogy event of the calendar year, so this promises to be a special weekend.

For more info, follow me on Twitter and also on Facebook, as well, and watch for my updates at My Ancestor’s Name.

This being an end of the year event for many of us, promises lots of things see and learn. What a great conference to finish the genealogy season!

Feel free to ask questions about the event as they are unfolding online. In the meantime, thanks for being here, and keep researching, keep documenting and please keep sharing what you find.
