Philadelphia PA, Justin Ragsdale, Curator of the “Lest We Forget Museum” is giving an Afr. American history presentation at the Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church.

the Washing DC Family History Center will present a seminar on African-American genealogy. The keynote speaker is Margo Williams. The program runs from 10:00-12:30 and will be presented at the Washington Temple Visitors’ Center, 9900 Stoneybrook Drive, Kensington, Maryland. The program is free but advance registration is requested by calling 301-587-0042

NEXT WEEK:
In Alexandria Virginia: During Black History Month, attend a free workshop in Alexandria to learn how to use Unknown No Longer: A Virginia Slave Name Database. This free database is the latest step by the Virginia Historical Society to increase access to its varied collections relating to Virginians of African descent. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, February 21, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at The Lyceum, Alexandria’s History Museum, 201 South Washington Street.

Take a look at the Anti-Slavery collection at Haverford College The collection focuses on Quakers and Slavery. Well worth a look.

Ground Breaking Ceremony to be webcast:
On Wednesday February 22, the groundbreaking for the National Museum of African American History will take place there will be access via online webcast.
