Ancestry has announced some new acquisitions, including the 1852 California State Census There were some African Americans enumerated on that census, most of whom were from states east of the Mississippi, so it is worth taking a look.

The folks at Family Search have been busy and they are busy merging sites and putting up new data as well. Among the new data one can find:
Puerto Rico, Civil Registration, 1836-2001
Arkansas County Arkansas marriages 1837-1957
Ghana, 1982-1984 – Census 458,000 (that’s right—West Africa!)

Any sites for Free:
I often use these free sites on a regular basis, and you may also wish to.
FREE SITES:

Family Search.
Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System
North Carolina Newspaper Digitization site
Arkansas History Commission
Missouri state archives

I shall devote an entire podcast to some of these sites in the future.

Well, thanks for listening, I appreciate your taking your time to tune in. Please continue to do what you do.

Keep researching, keep documenting, and please keep sharing what you find!
